What Personal Data We Collect

As part of the process of signing up for the WUF Mailing List, registering for an event, or becoming a WUF member, individuals must agree to volunteer some information about themselves.The categories of Personal Data we collect and use include (specific data are examples, and may change):Information such as your name; address; email address; telephone number; gender; date of birth, age and/or age range; account login details, e.g. username and password, avatar, or other account-related information; information you provide in connection with your application to be a vendor, volunteer, employee, or otherwise join or support our team; your identity, public profile, and similar information from social networks such as Facebook; and information such as unique IDs and similar data collected or derived from the use of tickets or RFID enabled products such as wristbands, and information about your vehicle (when you use certain parking facilities).Identity Data that relates to Information about how we can communicate with you, such as email and physical addresses, social media handles, and information you provide to us when you contact us by email or when you communicate with us via social media.Browsing history, search history, and information regarding your interaction with a website, application, or advertisement (e.g. IP Address, MAC Address, SSIDs or other device identifiers or persistent identifiers), online user ID, device characteristics (such as browser/OS version), web server logs, application logs, browsing data, first party cookies, third party cookies, web beacons, clear gifs and pixel tags.Information about WUF we provide to you and about transactions you make with us or other companies for services at WUF (including for example, information about purchases, what has been provided to you, when and where and, if applicable, how much you paid) and similar information.Personal Data used to create a profile about you reflecting your preferences, characteristics, psychological trends, predispositions, behavior, attitudes, intelligence, abilities, and aptitudes, market segments, likes, favorites and other data or analytics provided about you or your account by social media companies or data aggregators, including household data such as income, number of children, occupation, social grade, home ownership status, the products and services you use or intend to use or purchase, and your interests.Information such as bank account details, payment card information, and information from credit reference agencies, including similar data defined in Cal Civ Code § 1798.80(e).Information about your health (for example when you request a sign language interpreter or when we are responding to an accident which may have happened at one of our Events and Venues).Unstructured/free-form data that may include any category of Personal Data, e.g. data that you give us in free text fields such as comment boxes, answers you provide when you participate in sweepstakes, contests, votes and surveys, including any other Personal Data which you may provide through or in connection with WUF.

Why We Collect Your Personal Data

First and foremost, information is collected to help us deliver the highest level of service to our attendees. Here are some of the specific ways in which we accomplish that:

Use for Specific Purpose: Information provided for a specific purpose will be used for that purpose. Most commonly, this applies to information provided during the registration process, which will be used to fulfill your request to attend an event (for example, processing payments).

Communication: WUF may use the information you provide to communicate with you. Often, this communication channel exists to share important information, such as cancellation warnings about the events you are attending or updates regarding your membership. WUF may also contact you to promote related events and other information. You can opt out of receiving marketing communications at any time.

WUF’s Business: In order to provide the highest level of service, we will use information provided to measure the performance of events and the website. Information can also be used for WUF’s business, including but not limited to fraud prevention, business performance, and customer and market analysis.

Event Partners’ Business: Some information will be shared with event partners for business purposes, including but not limited to event access control, marketing and communication with attendees, and customer and market analysis.

The basis for WUF processing this information can be for one of the following reasons:

Consent: You have given us specific consent to process your data by accepting our terms of service.

Contract: You have entered into a contract with WUF and we are processing the data to fulfill the duties of that contract.

Legitimate Interest: WUF and Event Partners have a legitimate interest to collect and process that data. Most often these interests are related to the logistics or security for an event you are affiliated with.

How We Share Your Personal Data

WUF may share your information with other parties in limited circumstances:

Event Partners:
When you register as an attendee for events, we will share your information and associated analytics with the Event Partners of that event.

Vendors, Consultants, Service Providers: WUF works with vendors, consultants and service providers to perform business-related functions. These engagements can include payment processing, risk management services, analytics services, marketing services, software consultation, and others. During these engagements, we may need to share information provided in order to perform business-related functions. These companies are authorized to use your personal information only as necessary to provide these services to us, pursuant to written instructions. In such cases, these companies must abide by our data privacy and security requirements, and are not allowed to use Personal Data they receive from us for any other purpose.

Legal Requirements: Where required by law, WUF may share certain information with law enforcement, courts, or government agencies.

Business Transfer: In the event of a sale, merger, or change in control, we may also share your personal data as part of that business transfer.

What Are my Rights & Choices?

To the extent applicable law grants you the right to do so, and subject to any necessary verification, you may have the right to:

• Request that we provide you with a copy of the Personal Data which we hold about you.
• Request that we update any of your Personal Data which are inaccurate or incomplete.
• Request that we delete any of your Personal Data which we are holding.
• Request that we provide your Personal Data to you or a third-party provider of services in a structured, commonly-used and machine-• readable format.

Any requests regarding your Personal Data should be sent to info@wuf.world. Upon request, we will confirm whether we hold or are processing information that we have collected from you. European Union residents and individuals within the European Union or European Economic Area are entitled to additional choices as a result of the data privacy law known as the EU General Data Protection Regulation, more commonly referred to as “GDPR”. The following are those additional choices:

Access and Export: As stated above, you may contact info@wuf.world at any time to request a machine readable export.

Limit Use: You can request that we limit the use of your data by contacting info@wuf.world.

Rectification: If you find inaccuracies in your information, you have the ability to request that those inaccuracies be corrected by submitting a request to info@wuf.world

Removal: You can request that your data be removed from the WUF system by contacting info@wuf.world. For legal, accounting, and safety reasons, some data may not be able to be immediately removed or anonymized. For example, to comply with anti-money laundering laws, we may be required to maintain personal information tied to financial transactions. Such data may only be able to be removed after a minimum required data retention period.

For California Residents, the CCPA provides consumers (California residents) with specific rights regarding their personal information. This section describes your CCPA rights and explains how to exercise those rights. You have the right to request that WUF disclose certain information to you about our collection and use of your personal information over the past 12 months. You can make this request by emailing info@wuf.world. Your request will be responded to within 45 days. Only you, or a person registered with the California Secretary of State that you authorize to act on your behalf, may make a verifiable consumer request related to your personal information. You may also make a verifiable consumer request on behalf of your minor child. You may only make a verifiable consumer request for access or data portability twice within a 12-month period. The verifiable consumer request must:

• Provide sufficient information that allows us to reasonably verify you are the person about whom we collected personal information or an authorized representative.
• Describe your request with sufficient detail that allows us to properly understand, evaluate, and respond to it.

We cannot respond to your request or provide you with personal information if we cannot verify your identity or authority to make the request and confirm the personal information relates to you. We only use personal Information provided in a verifiable consumer request to verify the requestor’s identity or authority to make the request. Once we receive and confirm your verifiable consumer request, we will disclose to you:

• The categories of sources for the personal information we collected about you.
• Our business or commercial purpose for collecting or selling that personal information.
• The categories of third parties with whom we share that personal information.
• The specific pieces of personal information we collected about you (also called a data portability request).
• If we sold or disclosed your personal information for a business purpose, two separate lists disclosing: sales, identifying the personal information categories that each category of recipient purchased; and disclosures for a business purpose, identifying the personal information categories that each category of recipient obtained.‍

Non-Discrimination

We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your CCPA rights. Unless permitted by the CCPA, we will not:

Deny you goods or services.
Charge you different prices or rates for goods or services, including granting discounts or other benefits, or imposing penalties.
Provide you a different level of quality of goods or services.
Suggest that you may receive a different price rate for goods or services or a different level of quality of goods or services.
